Home Inspector Paul Hurst
Hello, my name is Paul Hurst. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Raised by my loving mother (Nurse, University of Tennessee) and my caring but strict father (Career Navy, Master Chief, Nuclear). I have lived all over the USA due to my father’s career. When dad left the Navy we resettled back in the south. Have lived in South Carolina since 1982. Played football for Barnwell High School and the University of Kentucky. While at university studied Mechanical Engineering, became homesick for my high school sweetheart, came home, got married, and went to work. Best decision I ever made, been married since 1989 and have one beautiful daughter.
My career in the government nuclear complex has spanned 29 years, during that time I have acquired a very unique skill set that requires me to be very detailed oriented. My job has required me to hold the highest security clearances at one time or another. But that’s enough about my career, my passion is all aspects of residential construction. My friends and neighbors for years have asked me to evaluate their homes for design solutions and problems. I have always had a passion for design and residential construction since I was a small boy. I have designed and built several spec homes and built several more custom homes. Have done extensive remodels of older homes and know where to look for trouble areas. The broad experience that I have as a licensed residential builder sets me apart from the average home inspector that does not have my breadth of knowledge in all aspects of construction.
